Christmas decorations

Here are some pictures of our house decorated for Christmas:
The Nativity scene always takes it's place of honor centered under the tree. The wisemen are on the table in the kitchen... they are still on their way! :-)
A wreath my SIL, Rachael made for us for Christmas last year, and a snowflake bell door chime that another SIL, Julie, gave me for Christmas many years ago.
A sled that a friend, Dawn, made for me for Christmas probably 8 years ago now.
Candy Cane snowman. He's funky, but a dear friend gave him to me, so...

Side table in the kitchen... the wisemen are on here now.
The dining room
My kitchen windowsill
My one shelf in the living room :-)
Putting the tree up
Chris and I started a tradition of getting a personalized ornament every year with our names and the year on it. We didn't get one last year b/c of $ issues, but we're planning on making up for that this year. Anyway, here are the ornaments all together, and below are pics of them on the tree. I couldn't get a half-way decent one of the snowflake due to the reflection. Anyway, here they are...

A large barn star ornament I made at a stamping party this year
the small barn star we made
A snowflake ornament that I made years ago. I have about 2 dozen of them on my tree. I love them!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Progress?!?

In spite of my horrible habits of e-crastination (see previous post) and ADD when it comes to packing, I am making some progress: Speaking of progress... I was off work for 2 days, and look what my little baby is doing...
that's right... he is WALKING LIKE CRAZY! He turned 20 months the 11th, and decided that he can walk now!

Here is a picture of the beautiful clouds I saw on my way home from work today.
Here is a home decor project that I have in the works... 4 pieces of corkboard, fabric remnants from my kitchen curtains, 2 salvaged magnetic boards... can you guess what I'm making?!?!?

Decorations & Cards

These are some pictures that I just took. I finally decided to put some decorations up in our apartment... the walls were looking a little empty after I took the Christmas decorations down. I had these curtains that my friend, Mrs. Carrie and I had made for our house in MD. We did so much work on them, that I really wanted to put them up somewhere here. Since we live in an apartment, I don't have a window in the dining room anymore. I hung the curtains there anyway, then added the coffee plaques. The other "window" with the gingerbread curtains is actually just an opening over the stairway (we live on the 2nd floor.) I'm not really sure why it is there, but it does let in a little extra light... and it's perfect for my curtains.

The cards are just some I had to make for birthdays coming up. I apologize for the pictures. I find myself highly challenged in the area of doing anything straight... (cutting, layering, punching, stamping, etc.)... and apparently it spills over in the area of my photography, too. (At least pictures of cards! I don't know if the cards just weren't laying flat or what.) Anyway, they look better in person, but you get the idea. I got the background paper at a new scrapbooking store we have here called "Rock, Paper, Scissors: The Scrapbooking Store." I thought that was a pretty cool name for it! The "Rock" part comes from a framed Bible verse they have on the counter... but I can't remember what it is. :-{

Anyhow... enjoy my art! :-)

CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS 2006

yep - it's that time of the year again... CHRISTMAS IS COMING! I love Christmas time. I love the fact that people are more open to the gospel now than at any other time of the year. I love to be able to get together with family and spend time with friends and loved ones. I love getting Christmas cards and letters catching up on friends that you don't get to talk to often enough. I love decorating for Christmas, too. This year was a little bit hard for me, though. With just having returned from a big trip to FL for Thanksgiving, and the financial strain that we've been struggling with, to be honest, I was a little depressed. We will be staying here for the holidays, and as far as I know, will not be seeing any friends or family over Christmas. However, yesterday, Chris found out that he has a new job, and we sold our truck and bought it back, providing us with enough cash in hand to pay ALL of our overdue bills! Praise the Lord! Learning that news brought back the Christmas spirit, and I finally decorated! Enjoy the pictures of my decorated apartment!
