no post!
Wow - it seems like forever since my last post (though it's only been about 2 weeks.) There is so much that I want to blog about, but have been trying to catch up with the things that are a little higher on my priority list... such as ACTUALLY getting Christmas cards IN THE MAIL, etc. Chris and I decided last night that we may just keep our artificial tree decorated, etc, and just take it down to the basement like that. I may get some shrink wrap, though, just to make sure that it doesn't get all dusty and get tons of spiders all in it! It will save a lot of time next Christmas (and I won't have to FLUFF all of the branches!)
Anyway, I'm going to work on catching up here in the next few weeks, but here are a couple of funny things that have happened or stories that others have told me over the past few months.
INSTA*TAN
One day I was doing something in the dining room, and Chris was in the living room watching me. On that particular day, I was wearing cream colored tights (I know - very fashion forward!) :-) Chris made the comment that I really needed to get a tan due to the fact that my legs were so white. The next day, I was wearing brown tights. We were sitting on the couch talking, when all of the sudden I stuck out my legs. I then told Chris, "Oh, yeah, by the way, I went tanning today." He gave me a really strange look until he realized that I was holding out my legs, which were now very brown instead of very white. We both dissolved into laughter, and he told me that was a good one! :-) I am not a very funny type of person, but every once in a while I come up with something good! :-)
TAKING SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGING SERIOUSLY
I just had to smile when this happened... and actually it happened several times. I'll preface this by saying that most of the Salvation Army bell ringers that I have seen stand sedately by their donation buckets, arms hanging by their side as they gently ring their bells... "ding a ling, ding a ling" and saying Merry Christmas or God bless you as people pass by or give their donations. HOWEVER, NOT the bell-ringer in front of our Walmart entrance! As I was walking up to the doorway, this man is sauntering back and forth in front of the whole door area (all the way out to the drive at times.) Instead of sedately ringing his bell, he has his hand raised HIGH above his head, shaking his bell for all it's worth! I was still about 200 ft. away from him, when I hear him shouting at the top of his lungs, "HO HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS!" and when a Hispanic family walks up, he yells, "FELIZ NAVIDAD!" I had to smile at his exuberance... it just made me want to laugh. At least SOMEONE was enjoying what he was doing that day! :-)
I guess those are the only two stories I can think of at the moment... I'll try to play catch up more later. Just in case I didn't mention this before, we did have a wonderful Christmas and New Year's, in spite of the miscarriage situation. God's grace is sufficient! :-)
Have a lovely day!
